Horribleness...

Yes, 1st of all I HAVE recorded the new show and am in the process of cutting it together now. So there!
2nd:  I felt moved to comment on a story that I read on rainews24.it last night. I didnt feel like translating it here for everyone so I have not replicated it here (that and I can no longer find it.)It was about 3 incidents in a single day of the sexual assault of several young people throughout Italy one of which the aggressor was met through Facebook (victim was 13 years old.)  (OK......I found it.   http://www.rainews24.rai.it/it/news.php?newsid=162612
I wanted to bring this up only because many people tend to think of this as being a problem primarily for those who live in big American cities.  It is a GLOBAL problem (especially in Europe where internet and cell phone use is more widespread) and ALL of us parents need to be aware of what are kids do online.  This was an attack and the 13 year old certainly didnt ask for nor deserve this BUT had the parents known about her Fbook doings it may not have happened.  I am sure that is what this poor child's parents would have us take from all of this. ( P.S. I love how 5 carabinieri squad cars descended upon the two adult attackers in the 2nd incident!)

Speaking of internet fouls, MY stalkers have racked up a huge number of page views and data "downloaded" from my site here. I should start releasing a weekly total complete with how much time had been spent here each week! (Again guys...I can see all of that.) Just know that it is indeed a favor that I have not forbidden them from seeing it (which is well within my rights as  I have to pay for every letter that reaches their eyeballs) but I am sincerely hoping that some of my genius will rub off.  It MUST be working as the visits have spiked considerably. Make sure to print it out fellas!

Tonight's Show:

This article in Scientific American shall serve as the topic for tonight's show:

Why Interacting with a Woman Can Leave Men "Cognitively Impaired"

In one experiment, just telling a man he would be observed by a female was enough to hurt his psychological performance.

Solar Flares and Whatnot...

We are currently recieving the barrage launched at us by the sun via CME / Solar Flare on March 7.  The predictions are diverse, varied and very difficult to make BUT from what I can gather, we are still being blasted and will continue to be for the rest of the day.  It is still the cover story over at foxnews.com where they are reporting that the brunt of the 'impact' should arrive today.

What does this mean for those of us who do not take joy in the nerdier things in life? Well, those of us who happen to have electricity are at risk of losing it via the outages that accompany these storms.  Surges of energy can travel down power-lines and create a management problem for power companies.  So even if you have a surge protector on the extension cord coming from the neighbors house, it wont help for 2 reasons: a) you will be unable to further steal power from others as they will have none either and b) it is more of a system-wide event rather than merely trailer-wide.  Just in case, it would not be a bad idea to check the batteries in your flashlights etc and other "power bump" devices in the event that the power flickers off.  I seriously do not think this will happen but it never hurts to think ahead (or at all!)

Finally and on a more personal note; aside from wierd space-weather and all of the appointments etc that I have had since my departure from the mining industry, I have got to say that we have not been happier here at home!  It is an odd time to be so but the kids have been happy that and taking advantage of the fact that I am home with them instead of being always up in "onetoothilliterateville." I will still have to make a trip up there in next week or so to gather my things but after that I shouldn't have to concern myself with it ever again! It has been nice getting kids ready for school and welcoming them home and I hope to find me a job here which keeps me close enough to continue to do so. We'll see! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Andrew Breitbart Has Passed....

I really am in shock about this news I awoke to today.  Matt Drudge wrote a moving little bit on his site: drugereport.com . (A rarity that he doe such things) and here is a link to a story off of one of his own sites: (NOT written by Breitbart.....obviously...)

Musical Presidents....

After seeing the second video of Obama singing blues and seeing visions therein of Bill Clinton with his sax on the "Arsenio Hall Show" I decided it would be fun to pose the question on my Facebook account: "if EVERY presidential candidate were to sing / play music on national TV during an election year, which songs would they pick?"  After commenting on my own post like 30 times, I decided it would be best to move the whole topic over here. So please.....add to my list otherwise I am going to keep going for days with this topic. (PS: There is not to be any more saxophone music coming from Bill Clinton.  I asked him personally during the last election cycle.........seriously.) Anyway here is what I have so far:
  • Mitt Romney sings anything by "The Osmands"
  • Newt Gingrich picks: "You're a Mean One Mr Grinch." by The Grinch OR "The Thrill Is Gone" by BB King.
  • Rick Santorum chooses anything by the "New Kids On The Block."
  • Ron Paul sings: "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell and "Basket Case" by Green Day.
  • John Edwards could've picked: "Billy Jean" by Michael Jackson
  • George W. Bush sings "Now I Know My A,B,C's" by his "favordest teacher EVER"
  • Bill Clinton should've picked: "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy
  • Howard Dean wails "Scream" by Michael Jackson  (Click on link below in case you've forgotten him)
  •                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yshnhEHBtO4&feature=related
  • Barack Obama can still pick "I'm Sorry" by Patsie Cline or "Oops I Did it Again" by Brittany Spears
  • Dick Cheney tries to sing: "War! What Is Good For? (Absolutely Nothing!) by Edwin Starr but cant get through more than a few bars without laughing. Also in his repetoire is "@#$^%#@" by: Open Mic
  • Al Gore lip syncs: "Weird Science" by Oingo Boingo or "Wild Thing" by The Troggs
  • John McCain and Bob Dole can sing whatever the hell they want because they're war heroes.
  • Jesse Jacskson picks: "Baby Momma" by Lil Boosie
  • Al Sharpton sings: "Hair" by Hair
  • Bill Clinton returns to the stage to sing: "Humpin' Around" by Bobby Brown.
  • Al Gore broadcasts "It Aint Easy Being Green" by Kermit the Frog from his private jet.
Ok folks, take it away!

Spark in the Powder Room .....Again...

It seems that NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization click HERE for Wikipedia definition) is hell bent on keeping things hot in the middle east.  This story broke yesterday and the public outcry from the Middle-East has shocked the world......well, the whole world minus one.
NATO Apologizes for Koran Burning
That story led to this one:
US Embassy in Kabul Closes in Midst of Anti-US Protests
and this one (where I first learned of the whole issue):
Koran on the Stake; US Closes Embassy in Kabul  ("Stake"...as in : "Burned at the stake")
As upsetting and dire as the consequences of this apparent act of  racism / religious oppression may well turn out to be,  it is equally upsetting that this issue was even allowed to come to the public's knowledge.
Here is the skeleton of the story: at the military detention facility at Bagram Air Field in Eastern Afghanistan, copies of the Koran and other religious material were removed from the library's shelves disposed of (burnt) after extremist messages / inscriptions were found in them.  NATO states that they did indeed remove the material from circulation but the burning was inadvertent. Following the breaking of this story, rioting began in Kabul prompting the lock down of the US embassy located in the city and is threatening to worsen.

Before labeling my words quasi-treasonous, hear me out.....

Wow!

I can not believe that I didn't post the big news here on my main site but the....management....ahem....at my place of employment finally fired me.  I actually can not say too much about it as it is an issue that is far from over and my councel has advised me not to "blow any of the many wads" before the correct time so....suffice it to say that this is somewhat a stressful time for us yet strangely "relieving" at the same time.

The last couple of years have been spent constantly having to defend myself for the pettiest of things that even though everything is topsy-turvy, I (for the time being) have lost much of the frustration and anger that comes with certain (let's just say:) "personality types"....yet, being both very adept at as well as very dedicated to my position; there is a certain stress and even grief having lost something that I have had as a huge part of my life for the past 5 years. Oh well, I will keep you posted and speak much more freely as soon as I am advised that I cant booger myself by doing so.

PS:  Oh never mind.

Apollo 1: The Fire That Shocked Nasa (Reproduced from an Article on Yahoo News)

I bet none of you know that I have a connection to the Apollo missions.  No, I am not the result of Nasa research to find a way to pack a huge amount of BS into a 150lb package!  Astronaut Gus Grissom is a relation of mine and quite easily the second most famous and heroic person in my family (after myself of course.)

NASA s Apollo program began with one of the worst disasters the organization has ever faced. A routine prelaunch test turned fatal when a fire ripped through the spacecraft s crew cabin killing all three astronauts. Today marks the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire, a tragic and preventable accident. There were warning signs, similar accidents that had claimed lives both in the United States and abroad. The Apollo 1 crew could have been saved from a gruesome death.

The commander for Apollo 1 was Gus Grissom, one of the original Mercury astronauts whose first spaceflight was marred by his capsule s sinking after splashdown. He flew again in Gemini in a spacecraft he named Molly Brown. Senior pilot on the Apollo 1 crew was Ed White, a Gemini veteran who made America s first spacewalk in 1965. Rounding out the crew was pilot Roger Chaffee, a talented rookie more than capable of holding his own with his experienced crew mates. He was a notoriously good guy who took pains to thank everyone for their contributions to Apollo right down to the janitors.
By the end of January 1967, the crew was going through their final prelaunch tests; barring some major setback, they would make the first manned Apollo flight on February 21. One routine test NASA had done since Mercury was the plugs out test, a final check of the spacecraft s systems.

La Cronaca Trott!!!!! The Trott Report in Italian Is About To Be Born!

Yes you heard that correct....FINALLY You all will be able to hear a show in a language that you all surely understand!  OK, perhaps I am exaggerating a tiny bit.....OK, perhaps I am totally full of merda. It is closer to the truth to say that NONE of my listeners currently speak Italian. No matter. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH, I am making you all privvy to the insider knowledge that I am about to launch the Italian equivalent of this show and site.  The site has been up as long as this one has but the show has not been recorded yet.   It will be a solo endeavor as Tempestuccia (despite having the Italian monicker / "pen" name ("nickname" for those of you who happen to be siblings or spouses of siblings of my wife!)

What??????? Or Rather: WTF??????

OBAMA SAYS HE (via the US military) HAS POWER TO DETAIN AMERICANS......BUT HE WON'T.

Saw this little tidbit on Drudgereport.com this morning.  Normally this particular website is more for the conspiracy minded but I figured that if it made the Drudge cut then I can run it as well! (Click on the capital letters above for story.)
